Tragedy brings an estranged father and son back together in rural Romania, but there are many unresolved issues resurrected with this reunion, not to mention the son's new Japanese wife and son.

When a freak flood hits Costache's village, his wife and house are washed away, leaving him widowed, homeless and destitute. His estranged son, Ticu returns home from Tokyo, bringing his Japanese wife and son with him. Determined to return to his village, Costache must deal not only with his loss, but also with these sudden, foreign additions to his family, as well as finally facing his son.
